Probably just a short entry today.
Yesterday’s phone consultation with Dr H went as well as expected. No more Baclofen, no argument there, it doesn’t work and the side-effects are horrible. Unfortunately, she was drawn to the idea “stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea” rather than “better the devil you know”, so she hasn’t prescribed me any more Diazepam either. On the other hand, she is giving me 400 mL of morphine per month now instead of the 300 mL I’ve had since October. So, no more scrabbling around at the end of the month and do more rationing and ending up in pain.
As a result of this, I decided to actually get a good night’s sleep last night; I’ve been in enough pain lately that I haven’t been sleeping much. Took 40 mg, 50 if we include my slow-release, and lay down to watch TV. It was actually an interesting experiment – my partner has one of those fitness-tracker bands, which tells you how long you’ve slept and the quality of your sleep, and I got to wear it. I slept for exactly 6 hours and 51 minutes, took one hour 23 minutes to fall asleep, woke and moved nine times, and spent about half of my sleeping time in “shallow sleep”.
Tomorrow is my meeting with the DSA. Not sure if I’m looking forward to it or not.
